I get the feeling the ‘good girl’ types usually don’t talk to foreigners much without a short introduction by somebody they know. That is even if you get along very well, after a few minutes of talking there will always be a certain distance and those girls won’t open up much unless somebody in their group knows you.

How to deal with this situation?

Another problem I see with the good girl types. They usually frequent Thai style venues of the ‘stuffed with tables until the door’ type. How can you start a conversation in a place like that? Seems a bit difficult to do as you have to invite yourself to their table and into their group.

Would be great if you could shed some light on this. Thanks in advance…

What you say is true and not true. Here are my thoughts:

Most “good girls” do visit nightclubs that foreigners go to

However, not the sleazy ones. If there are obvious prostitutes around, there is a good chance not many good girls will be in that club.

Look for “good girls” in Route 66 (at RCA) on the weekends and Slim (RCA) on the weekdays. (Try Scratch Dog and Narz for after party clubs) 

Most “good girls” are just as open to meeting foreigners

But will be shy at first. Sometimes even making eye contact will be difficult.

In this situation, you will need to make a cold approach. Do not be too drunk, just be friendly and talk to everyone at their table. (Good girls tend to be shy with their English when meeting a foreigner, even if they are quite fluent)

Sometimes you’ll get the cold shoulder, sometimes you won’t. It’s best if you approach the entire group in a friendly manner instead of just your target.

Hi-Society types will be the ones that stick to pure Thai clubs

Don’t waste your time at these places unless you have some massive Thai connections.

The nightclubs that “good girls” attend will almost always be packed

Be sure to get there early (around 11:00pm to 11:30pm) and get a central table. In an hour, the club will be packed.

The clubs will be loud

and sometimes difficult to understand when talking. Just get in close when you talk to everyone but not in a creepy way.

Basically, with good girls you will need to:

1- Initiate the conversation.
2- Display that you are fun and friendly without being a “cocky” foreigner.
3- Let them know that you “live” in Thailand and/or will stay a very long time. (Even if it’s not entirely true)

You can’t go wrong with: eye contact, smile, and “cheers”
