We are often asked:

What is the first thing I should do when I arrive in Bangkok Thailand?

Our three part answer is always the same:

1- Hotel

Check into your hotel and drop off your bags.  Most likely your flight was long and tiring, but don’t go to sleep.  (Note: When you stay in Bangkok, you’ll want your hotel’s location to be around Sukhumvit Soi 1 and Sukhumvit Soi 20.)

2- Get a Massage

In America an hour massage costs a minimum $60.  In Thailand the price for a regular massage is between 9 – 12 dollars.  Take advantage of this while you can.

For the men out there who like something a little “special.”  You can get a soapy body massage at Annies Body Massage on Soi 2 or get an Oil Body Massage at Mangos on Soi 24 (or Snow White on Soi 26).

3- Get a Thai Phone Sim Card

Buy a Thai sim card so you can make phone calls in Thailand without outrageous international calling fees.  The cost of a sim card is between 1 – 3 dollars and can be bought at any phone store, mall, or inside most 7 elevens.

If your phone is not unlocked or does not have an option of a sim card, buy a cheap phone in Thailand.  A basic phone costs about 20 – 30 dollars.

Trust us, having a Thai phone number will make life much easier when coordinating with friends or those of the opposite sex.
